Closing Plenary

Development Disrupted

After hearing from a variety of players about solving wicked problems in development throughout the day, we'll convene for a plenary to discuss how leaders view the disruption of the development field and what the future holds. Speakers will include George Ingram of Brookings Institute and Kristin Lord of IREX, co-authors of the recently released Global Development Disrupted report, and Raj Kumar of Devex, author of the recently released book, The Business of Changing the World: How Billionaires, Tech Disrupters, and Social Entrepreneurs are Transforming the Global Aid Industry. The moderator for this plenary session will be Michael Gerson, columnist for the Washington Post.

Innovations in finance, technology, and partnerships are changing the way we work. New actors are emerging, along with new business models. Yet old challenges persist and new ones keep arising. Where is it all headed? And what can we all do to shape the direction? Join us for an interactive, engaging, and insightful discussion.
