Courtney Calvin leads EF's strategic communications, marketing, branding, and knowledge management. She previously served as knowledge management specialist on the USAID LEARN contract, working with the USAID Bureau of Policy, Planning and Learning on behalf of IRG, an Engility Company. There, Courtney planned the inaugural Moving the Needle conference, developed content for USAIDlearninglab.org, and led several communities of practice focused on collaborating, learning, and adapting for better development results. She honed her international development project and knowledge management skills at Chemonics (2010-2014), where she managed project knowledge and information, provided communications support to projects, and wrote proposals for the East Africa, Afghanistan, Middle East, and Europe and Eurasia divisions. Courtney has experience developing communications and media strategies in Ukraine where she oversaw Eurasia Foundation's launch of the East Europe Foundation in 2007. Courtney served as a Peace Corps volunteer in the Kyrgyz Republic (2003-2005) and has also lived and worked in Ukraine (2007-2008) and Uzbekistan (2009). She holds a bachelor's degree in journalism and international relations from The George Washington University and a master's degrees in international and intercultural communications from the University of Denver.
