Senior Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Services (WASH) Advisor

Dennis Mwanza serves as RTI International’s Senior Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Services (WASH) Advisor. In this role, Dr. Mwanza is responsible for capture and technical input of proposals and thought leadership on various technical matters, specifically urban sanitation, utility reform, and utility governance. He also advises RTI’s implementation of the USAID E-WASH program in Nigeria, on which he previously served as Chief of Party. Dr. Mwanza also led USAID’s regional SUWASA program in this role. Other positions he has held include Deputy Director in the WSH Department at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Senior Water and Sanitation Specialist at the World Bank, Managing Director of Lusaka Water and Sewerage Company in Zambia, and Managing Director of an Africa-wide capacity building program for the urban water utilities.
