Dr. Rurangwa is a global health expert with over 15 years of experience in clinical practice and public health programs delivery. She currently serves as the Senior Technical Advisor for Health and HIV/AIDS at Project Concern International (PCI), a Washington DC based nonprofit organization focusing on empowering people to enhance health, end hunger, overcome hardship and advance women & girls around the world. Prior to PCI, Dr. Rurangwa led the Family Health International francophone’s nutrition and infectious diseases portfolio. She also managed the American Society of Microbiology’s global laboratory capacity strengthening program in 10 countries around Africa and the Caribbean.  Before relocating to the US, Dr. Rurangwa worked in Rwanda as a physician at the University Teaching Hospital, and as a lecturer and Director of Programs at the School of Public health of the National University of Rwanda. Dr. Rurangwa is a 2019 Fellow of the Aspen Institute’s International Career Advancement Program (ICAP).  She holds a Medical Doctor degree from the National University of Rwanda, a Master of Public Health from Benedictine University.
