Ellen Yount

Ms. Yount is an experienced international development professional, working in the democracy and governance and strategic communications sectors. Today, she is a Senior Technical Director at Management Systems International. Ms. Yount has lived, worked and traveled extensively throughout the developing world, living in former Yugoslavia for nearly six years. As USAID’s former chief spokesperson and director of media relations, she has broad knowledge of the Agency, its procedures and policies. She served as the Agency’s press director in the immediate aftermath of 9/11, and helped the Agency develop its first ever global communications network. She is an expert trainer and facilitator and has designed numerous courses for USAID personnel. A former senior aide to Governor Tom Ridge, she holds a master’s degree in international relations from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University.
