Eric G. Postel has more than 25 years of private sector experience in emerging markets.  The founder of Pangaea Partners, and a former Vice President of Citibank, Eric worked on several billion dollars’ worth of transactions on four continents, helped six African countries create or improve their stock markets, led efforts to modernize more than 20 former Soviet banks, and advised on the creation of the Slovak Export-Import Bank.  His 1988 completion of a unique financing structure for Jamaica International Telecommunications Limited (JAMINTEL) subsequently served as the basis of more than $80 billion worth of financings via the international securitization of future receivables. 

In 2011, Eric was confirmed by the U.S. Senate as the USAID Assistant Administrator for the Bureau of Economic Growth, Education and Environment.  From May 2015 to the end of the Obama Administration, he also served concurrently as USAID’s Associate Administrator (the defacto #3 position).  During 2014-15, Eric served as the acting head of the USAID Africa Bureau.  Eric has a BA from Wesleyan University and an MBA from Stanford University.  Between Wesleyan and Stanford, he served as a United States Naval Officer.
