Please join us for a CEO Breakfast with Representative Gerald Connolly (D-VA, 11th) on Friday, May 19th from 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. This is a unique opportunity to engage with Rep. Connolly in an off-the-record discussion and hear his views about the current state of international development, the Presidential Transition in Washington and what those changes mean to U.S. foreign policy and more specifically to U.S. foreign assistance programs globally looking forward to 2017-18 and beyond.
Rep. Connolly serves on the House Foreign Affairs Committee (HFAC) and the House Oversight & Government Reform Committee. In addition, he serves in senior leadership positions on the following HFAC Subcommittees: Asia & Pacific and Middle East and North Africa. Rep. Connolly has been a long time supporter of U.S. international engagement (as a former staff member for the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee) and the crucial role that U.S. foreign assistance plays in helping to extend America's humanitarian, stabilization and international development impact in the developing world.
This event will offer a chance for SID-Washington Institutional Members to hear Rep. Connolly's insights and ask specific questions to one of the leading international development supporters in the U.S. House of Representatives. Capitol Hill veteran Diana Ohlbaum will moderate the discussion.
Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. and coffee and a light breakfast will be available.
