“Everything is design, everything!” By thinking like a designer Sarah experimented with different ways of working as a consultant. You can too. 

 Sarah Jutras teaches the course “Designing your freelance business” and will be sharing her frameworks and insights with the SID Independent Consultants Network. 

Working as an independent consultant can be the most rewarding and fulfilling experience, but a lot of details are left for you to manage. How you handle your operations—timesheets, invoicing, documentation; How you handle business development and client relations—calendaring, CV updates, availability, and outreach; How you handle your time—daily and periodic rituals, managing time off, and establishing healthy boundaries; Thinking through these details will optimize your experience as an independent consultant and when well designed can allow you to best enjoy the freedoms of consulting. This event is for anyone currently working as an independent consultant or thinking about starting your independent consulting career. 

During our time with Sarah we will cover:

• How to design the client experience through all touchpoints: biz dev, to proposals, to onboarding, to handoff, to invoicing
• Ways to keep your independent consulting operations organized

• Create a healthy work environment and boundaries
• Design sustainable rituals for the average day, week, month, and year to help you manage your time
