Jilly Choi joined SID-Washington in September 2021 as a Fall Program Associate, assisting in roles surrounding event management and communications. She recently graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in Global Poverty and Practice. At Berkeley, Jilly worked as a research assistant in the Travers Department of Political Science investigating how international apologies pertaining to historical atrocities can affect current state relations. Additionally, she was deeply involved in the Bay Area as a grassroots organizer focused on empowering communities of color to participate in the political process.
Jilly is very passionate about International Relations and excited to pursue a postgraduate degree in Conflict Resolution and Peacebuilding. Many of her academic interests are related to critically analyzing the root causes of violent conflict as well as the role of international intervention and human rights law in the protection of civilians.
As a Southern California native, she enjoys spending her free time swimming at the beach and hiking near the Angeles National Forest.
