John Furlow is the Senior Adaptation Advisor at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). From 2007-2015, he led the adaptation program in USAID’s climate change office, including the development of its Climate-Resilient Development Framework and its annexes. He participates in international climate negotiations representing USAID and the USG. He spent 2015 on detail to the State Department helping to design and launch the National Adaptation Plans (NAP) Global Network. In January 2016, John returned to USAID and continues to work on adaptation issues. Prior to joining USAID, John worked with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Global Change Research Program, where he designed and managed projects examining the impacts of climate change on water quality and the built environment.
