Moira Whelan is a Partner at BlueDot Strategies. For more than 15 years, Moira has been at the forefront of shaping opinion on global events, most recently as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Digital Strategy at the US State Department. She is an expert at utilizing new technologies and trends alongside traditional communications strategies to grow global audiences and influence outcomes. She has spearheaded the full spectrum of broadcast, digital and media communications efforts on events such as the US Global Entrepreneurship Summit, the US-Africa Leaders Summit, and countless others.

Moira’s experience working with US and international governments, non-government, technology and academic sectors offers a comprehensive perspective to growing businesses. She has served in senior level positions at the US Department of State, US Agency for International Development, Department of Homeland Security, Harvard University’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs, the US House of Representatives and the Center for Strategic and International Studies. She is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. She is a Midwest transplant to Washington, DC where she lives with her husband and children.
