Cybersecurity and International Development: A New Paradigm?

With several recent high-profile hacks and cybersecurity incidents globally and within the international development sector, cybersecurity is becoming increasingly important for development practitioners to understand and integrate into their work. This session will look at why cybersecurity matters for the international development sector across all technical areas – not only for practitioners themselves, but especially for the people and organizations in the countries where we work. During the panel, speakers will discuss specific cyber threats and trends that will impact development practitioners and will share tips and resources for improving cybersecurity awareness and preparedness. USAID will also share key takeaways from its forthcoming Cybersecurity Primer, which presents opportunities to integrate cybersecurity throughout USAID programming. By the end of this session, attendees will better understand how cybersecurity impacts the development sector and will know which resources and tools they can begin to use to respond to these emerging trends.

Registration for this event is now closed.
