Valentyna Koudelkova joined SID-Washington in September 2021 as a Fall Program Associate, assisting in roles surrounding event management and communications. Val is currently in the final year of receiving her BA in Diplomacy and World Affairs from Occidental College where she is a member of the varsity swimming and diving team. She is very passionate about global policy and human rights, specifically cases that relate to gender equity and sustainable development. Her academic interests surround post-communist states and the ways their ideologies impact the social, economic, and political rights of marginalized individuals in these regions. Val is a dual-citizen and plans to utilize her Czech citizenship to receive her MA in International Human Rights Law and Protection of Environment at Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic. Val is originally from the Outer Banks of North Carolina where she has previously worked as an ocean rescue lifeguard and a 5-year volunteer coach for the Dare County Special Olympics Swim Team.
