2022 Annual Conference Volunteers
2022 Summer/Fall Program Associates
SID-US is seeking in-person and virtual volunteers for our 2022 Hybrid Annual Conference on Thursday, May 26. Volunteering is a great opportunity to be exposed to the international development sector and to meet key players in international development.
Volunteers attend the Conference for free in return for a 6-hour volunteer AM or PM shift. In-person volunteers will be required to provide proof of vaccination for COVID-19. Breakfast or lunch will be provided, depending on the volunteer’s shift.
AM Shift: 7:00 AM – 12:00 NOON ET
PM Shift: 12:00 NOON – 5:00 PM ET
In-person volunteers will be expected to help in the following ways:
Greet and direct attendees to check in
Assist with onsite check in and registration
Print or distribute badges
Verify COVID-19 vaccination
Assist with speaker troubleshooting
Answer questions about the program
Usher attendees to plenary sessions, breakout rooms, lounges, reception, etc.
Attend sessions and assist with the facilitated discussions
Manage mics during Q&A, and throughout program where necessary
Virtual volunteers will be expected to help in the following ways:
Engage and post on TC forums and chats
Participate in 3D World exhibit and engage with other attendees
Live tweet during live breakout sessions and compile a short summary consisting of panels
Aid in other communications and social media tasks as needed
A limited number of volunteer opportunities will be available with priority given to students and young professionals breaking into the field of international development. For any questions, please email mrandive@sidw.org.

An internship at SID-US is an invaluable opportunity for young people interested in pursuing a career in international development. All internships are remote for the foreseeable future and based on the recommendations set by the CDC and city/state guidelines. SID-US staff may return to the in-person setting in 2022, but we still encourage applicants outside of the DMV area to apply.
The dates for the internship are negotiable. Additionally, the SID-US staff is committed to helping dedicated individuals find jobs, build their resumes, and develop skills that will be critical to future success in the professional sphere.

The Workgroup or Network Associate position at SID-US is an opportunity for young professionals to get more involved with our several workgroups and networks. As a Workgroup or Network Associate, you will get a chance to work closely with current Co-Chairs for various workgroups and networks, interact with members and prospective members, and contribute to the activities of the workgroups or networks that you are a part of. This role will be focused on managing various virtual and communications platforms for the workgroups and networks and help implement continued interaction between Co-Chairs and members. Please note that this is a volunteer opportunity and not an internship or full-time role with SID-Washington. This position will run for a period of one year with a possible chance of extension of another year.
