Matthew Bare is Director of Climate and Environment for ACDI/VOCA, where he advises the organization’s work with USAID and other partners to mainstream climate mitigation and resilience across agriculture and economic growth projects. He advises on climate strategies, including climate-smart agriculture, greenhouse gas emissions measurements, and market incentives for sustainable production. Prior to joining ACDI/VOCA in 2023, Matthew worked with a non-profit, advising companies on regenerative agriculture, farmer livelihoods, and monitoring and evaluation in the coffee, cocoa, and banana sectors. He holds a master’s degree in forestry from the Yale School of the Environment at Yale University and an MBA from the University of the Andes (Colombia), and was a US Peace Corps volunteer in Ecuador.
