Larry Michel is President and CEO of Crown Agents USA. Formerly, he was Vice President of the Center for Leadership and Management (CLM) at Management Sciences for Health (MSH). Previously, he was Managing Director of Emerging Markets Group UK; and Director and a Principal of Emerging Markets Group (formerly Deloitte Touche Tomatsu Emerging Markets).  Emerging Markets Group main clientele includes the United States Agency for International Development (USAID); the UK Department for International Development; the European Commission; and the United Nations.  Before joining Emerging Markets Group, Mr. Michel was Associate Partner at IBM Business Consulting Services, International Development Practice (formerly PricewaterhouseCoopers) where he oversaw the Economic Growth practice.  Mr. Michel previously led the work resulting in the formation of World Business Chicago while at the Civic Committee of the Commercial Club of Chicago and in 1991 interrupted his career to work in Poland as a Peace Corps Volunteer and led the creation of Poland’s National Investment Funds under the country’s Mass Privatization Programme.  
 
Mr. Michel has over 25 years of experience in both the private and public sectors. Mr. Michel worked on economic development when the wall came down in Eastern Europe, and when the war ended in the Balkans; and he has consulted with the United Nations on finance for four of the world’s largest slums.  Mr. Michel has lived in Poland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, England and Kenya and has worked all over the world.  Mr. Michel is a dual German & American national and has a Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Northwestern University.
